Priority Pollutant Analysis

Slide

Priority pollutant analysis is required for many permit renewals for wastewater treatment facilities. Priority pollutant scans, along with sludge samples, are conducted on wastewater treatment plant effluents. A priority pollutant scan is an analytical battery of parameters conducted to characterize a matrix for contaminants. If contaminants are detected, this information is used to determine if corrective action needs to be taken to eliminate the contaminate source.

Regulatory requirements may force a permittee to conduct further monitoring and evaluations.
